Make That Putt| Ladies Professional Golf Association - 1988 Tour Professional and Caddy Monday Scramble, High Point, NC

 

June 1988 Intelligencer Journal newspaper article on my experience as an L.P.G.A. Tour caddy for Amy Read of Holly Springs, Mississippi and the University of Kentucky.

 

In July I started to caddy for Laura Hurlbut (pictured above) of Calabasas, California and University of Tulsa.  

Monday, August 1, Cathy Johnston-Forbes and her caddy hosted a 9-hole scramble of tournament week.  Laura and I finished one stroke out of the $.

I had left my Ping Anser2 putter in Vancouver, British Columbia CANADA five weeks earlier so I putted with one of the Ping putters Laura had in the trunk of her car. 

I made (F.I.U. style) an up hill 11 foot putt on number 9 and Laura asked if I wanted to keep that putter. Was it a Ping Anser2, Ping Zing2, Ping Pal2, Ping Pal4, or Ping Pal6?

On the ninth tee box after a slice wide right, L.P.G.A. Tour member Donna White, who was watching Laura, me and the two HealthSouth physical therapists (pictured above), commented on my back swing.
